Words simply can not describe this awesome monument. This is a very mighty megalithic tomb. Situated in such an idyllic place, with such awe-inspiring views, the presence of this monument is simply captivating, it has almost a magical essence that compels you to stay.

During the time of its use this must have been an amazing place, an awesome spectacle to witness. The monument’s capstone is enormous measuring approximately 5.3 metres by 3.6 metres and is supported by three of its seven uprights.

It has been said that the site was used for Neolithic ritualistic purposes prior to the construction of the monument itself. All in all, this site is a must.

We have only visited once but will definitely be returning.

Finding the site was a bit of a muddle for us as we do believe we took a wrong turn at Mathry and ended up having to use our trusty Landranger to get us out of trouble once more. Which it did as usual, and we simply stumbled on the entrance to Longhouse farm, which is clearly signposted. From the entrance, follow the road to the end where the monument can clearly be seen in the field next to the public footpath.
