These are the second of the
two Maenclochog sites both of which, unfortunately we have no measurements
for.
The first stone you come to
as the picture depicts is a rather large boulder like stone. The second a
smaller stone set at the back of the field, the picture does not give the
sense of distance between the two, as the smaller stone is quite some way
away from the boulder.
Going from memory and not an
actual measurement we believe the boulder to be between 5 to 6 feet tall
with similar girth, the second being of similar height but a lot thinner.
We recall we had to leave the
field in a hurry for some reason, hence the lack of measurements. We will,
however, return to the site in the future and post the measurements on the
website. Getting to the site from the single Maenclochog stone is simple and
is just round the corner. From the single stone continue a short way to the
main road junction; you will come into the village of Maenclochog. Turn
right up the hill, and continue up passed the houses on your right. At the
end of the houses there is a track leading off to your right, we parked up
on the main road and walked down the track.
The stones can clearly be
seen just inside the field on your right.
