Every time we have visited Gors Fawr, we have always approached it from the same direction. From Narbeth on the A478, you pass through Efailwen, and head for Glandy Cross. As you get to Glandy Cross, there is a crossroads. You need to bear left, and follow the signs leading to the campsite. This road is narrow, long and winding. After you pass the entrance to the campsite, you will finally come to a fork in the road. Bear left, heading for Mynachlog-ddu. Keep bearing left. Go passed the junction on your right, sign posted Rosebush. You need to go straight. Just keep on going. It’s not far. Gors Fawr is on your right. It is sign posted by a gate, where you can park the car. You can see the circle from the car. Also to the right of the circle, set back in the corner of the field, there are two standing stones.

The circle itself consists of sixteen stones, the tallest of which measuring approximately four feet. One of the stones is believed to be a Preseli “bluestone” (dolerite).

The circle sits on open moorland, with an exceptional panoramic view. In the distance can be seen the mysterious Carn Menyn, famous for being the source of the bluestones of Stonehenge. We personally love this part of Pembrokeshire, the entire area is littered with ancient monuments, be they standing stones, burial chambers, cairns and alike, many of which we have yet to discover.
