* This is the width at the bottom, the width at the top measures 1.3m This stone is huge and it has eluded us for a long time due to the fact it is on private land. We have tried to spot it from across the valley no end of times to no avail, then one day we caught site of it with binoculars. We immediately got in touch with the owners of Gilestone Farm, who very kindly gave us their permission to visit the monument. You do literally have to see this monument to appreciate just how big this giant is, nestled in the trees at Gilestone farm. Once again we do stress, this monument cannot be visited without the express permission of the landowners. |
