This site had us stumped, we had a picture in a book which also stated the monument could clearly be seen from the road, we found this was not the case. In fact we quite literally stumbled across it.

The directions in the book were spot on, and we believe the monument could have clearly been seen at one point.  Unfortunately due to the overgrown nature of its surrounding area, it was completely invisible to us.

To find the site: From Pembroke, take the B4320, heading for Angle. It is quite a way, through gorgeous countryside. You will pass sand dunes to your left, and eventually come to a dwelling on your left, right on a junction, turning left with a sign for Castlemartin. You need to park just before this dwelling. (From memory) there is a field to your left, beyond that another field with long grass, it is in this field the monument is situated.

We used the Landranger map as a reference as to where the monument is in relation to the car.  From the car we walked through the field with the long grass on what we believed to be the appropriate angle. Luckily enough, after a 100 yards or so, we happened to spot the capstone.

We had to beat down the surrounding grass to reveal the chamber. This site is well worth a visit. However, don’t be deterred if you can’t at first find it. It is there, just be patient. We were impressed with the monument when we finally uncovered it. It has quite a large capstone, supported by three uprights. In fact the monument is very similar, yet considerably smaller to The Kings Quoit, at Manobier
