This magnificent monolith is actually quite hard to miss, due to its size and position in relation to the main A40 road, between Crickhowell and Abergavenny. Although the stone can easily be seen from the road, if you wish to approach the monument, permission must be sought as it is on Ministry of Defence property. We have passed this site on many occasions, and the stone never fails to impress. This mighty monolith is definitely worth a visit. But remember, although it is only a stones throw from the road, it is on private land. We were fortunate enough to visit on a day when the compound was open to the public for a fete or similar even |
