Talk about the phrase: can’t see the wood for the trees, we looked for this stone on a few occasions and could not find it.  In my defence, and due to the fact that at the time a map might as well have been in a foreign language, I [Jason] hold my hands up, I read the map wrong.

The words “Standing Stone” are printed to the right of the road on the map, therefore I did not notice the dot indicating the position of the stone itself exactly where it was. So if you have yet to visit the site I can, with a grin, inform you that it is easy to find.

Following the A40 from Brecon to Crickhowell you will enter the village of Bwlch, to which you will climb the hill and begin to descend again.  As you begin to drop the road takes a very long right hand bend around a field, in the middle of which, as plain as day stands the Bwlch stone, approximately 1.8 metres high, with a width and depth of approximately 500mm by 300mm. The monument leans slightly to the South East. To get to the stone there is a gate on your right as the road straightens again.

The stone is situated a few hundred yards from the gate and can clearly be seen by everybody it seems except myself.
